Opinions Issue 3 (c) 1992 Linton Dawe
This is the third issue of the Opinions disc
magazine produced by Linton Dawe. It contains
loads of features including reviews, public domain
pages, general information and information on the
latest releases etc. from Liquid Data Software.
To start the magazine disc, just double click on
!Opinions3. This will bring up a filer window
conatining 4 applications - !Colour!, !LDInfo!,
!TheMag! and !ThePD!. !LDInfo! contains
infomation from Liquid Data Software, !TheMag! is
the main magazine, !Colour! contains some pretty
graphics screens and !ThePD! contains some of the
public domain software mentioned in the P.D.
pages.
To read the main magazine double click on the
!TheMag! icon in the filer window to load the main
program. After loading, a contents page will be
displayed and you should click on the icon for the
section that interests you (any button). The
screen will fade out and after a short wait the
first page of your selected section will be
displayed. Clicking on Next Page will take you to
the next page in the magazine (even if it takes
you into the next section) and clicking on
Opinions Contents Page returns you to the contents
page. Once again, any mouse button is allowed.
When you have finished, press Escape to quit the
Opinions text reader.
The !LDInfo! application is a scrolling display.
Just click on the !LDInfo! icon in the filer
window and sit back and read!
Clicking on !ThePD! brings up a filer window
containing the software itself. Most of the
software in this section has it's own !Help files
and is fairly self explanatory to use with some
knowledge of RISC OS and common sense.
Click on !Colour! to view the colour graphics
screens and press escape when you have finished.
Further issues of Opinions are planned for the
near future and I would welcome any articles by
readers for publication in a later issue. See the
magazine for details.
If you have a particularly badly stocked or
expensive source of P.D. and you wish to obtain
future issues of Opinions or any of the P.D.
software mentioned in the Public Domain pages but
not included in !ThePD! directly from me, you can
do so by sending a blank disc and a £1 coin to
cover costs, but this should not prove too much of
a problem to most readers. If this disc cost you
seriously more than about £2 then I would recomend
that you find another P.D. library - it is usually
possible to obtain software for around £1.50 or
less per disc.
If for any reason you would like to contact Linton
Dawe, Liquid Data Software or Opinions Magazine
(they all come to the same person!) then please
write to this address:
2 Crockers Wood Cottages,
Coldharbour,
Dorking,
Surrey,
RH5 6HE.
This application is Public Domain and may be
freely distributed provided that is is not changed
in any way and is not sold for profit. You may
not use any of the coding etc. contained within
this application in your own programs without
special permission from the author.
This issue was finished in early August 1992 and
should find it's way to a PD library some time
soon. I hope you find it very interesting and
things. Good night!
